BOX SCORE TOWSON, Md. – Nine different players had at least one hit to help Towson University defeat Morgan State, 17-4, in the opening game of the Tiger Clash Saturday afternoon at the Tiger Softball Complex.
With the victory, Towson tied the 1986 and 2010 teams for the best start in program history at 12-3.
How It Happened- Towson started fast and never looked back by scoring eight runs in the bottom of the first inning.
- Six of Towson's eight runs in the first inning were scored with two outs.
- The Tigers batted around twice during the game (first and fourth innings).
- Towson hit .600 (6-for-10) with two outs.
- Towson's first four hitters reached in the first inning.
- Daria Edwards, Shelby Stracher, Brook Miko, Bailey Boyd, Nicole Stockinger and Kendyl Scott all had two hits each for the Tigers, who pounded out 15 as a team.

- The big hits in the first inning belonged to Boyd (two-run single) and Scott (two-run homer).
- Olivia Yarbrough's two-run single in the second inning gave Towson an 11-2 bulge.
