TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team hits the road for a pair of weekend games to open the month of September.
The Tigers (0-2) open play at Saint Francis University on Friday at 4 p.m. On Sunday, Towson faces off against Lock Haven for a noon matchup.

The Series: Saint Francis
The Tigers have faced Saint Francis seven times, with the Tigers holding a 4-3 edge. The Red Flash have won three-straight games including a 4-0 decision at Johnny Unitas® Stadium last season. The Tigers' last victory was a 2-0 win at home in 2011.
The Series: Lock Haven
Sunday's game will be the seventh meeting between Towson and Lock Haven. The Lady Eagles have won five of the six previous matchups including a 5-1 win over the Tigers in Towson last season. The Tigers' lone victory in the series was a 1-0 win at home during the 2005 season.
Scouting the Red Flash
Saint Francis enters Friday's contest with a 2-1 record. The Red Flash dropped its season opener to Ohio University before defeating Missouri State twice. Kelli Connolly leads the team with four points on two goals. Elizabeth Dyer has given up five goals and made six saves over the first three games for the Red Flash.
Scouting the Lady Eagles
Lock Haven opens its season at Sacred Heart on Friday before welcoming Towson to Charlotte E. Smith Field on Sunday. The Lady Eagles return Stephanie Whiteman who earned Atlantic 10 (A-10) Conference Preseason All-Conference honors.

- The Tigers would record their first road victory since a 4-3 win against No. 18 American during the 2014 season.

The Tigers continue their trend of leading the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in saves. Towson recorded a league-best 29 saves during its opening weekend. Sophomore goalkeeper
Emilee Woodall has recorded a league-high 22 saves and ranks third with a .778 save percentage.
