TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team will play just one game this weekend, heading to Villanova on Sunday for a noon matchup.

The Series
This will be the fifth meeting all-time between the Tigers and Wildcats. Towson is seeking its first win in the series after dropping a 5-1 decision last season. Prior to the 2015 season, Towson and Villanova had last met in 1998 with the Wildcats winning that matchup, 3-0.
With A Win Sunday
- Towson would earn its first-ever win over Villanova.
- Get its third win of the season, the most wins in a season since Towson won 10 games in 2011.

Freshman forward
Lexi Butler was named Towson's Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 12-18. Butler had a five-point game against LIU Brooklyn last weekend, which gave Towson its second win of the season. She scored twice and added an assist on the game's third goal for the most points in a game since Kate Nolan tallied five points in 2011. Butler also had nine shots against the Blackbirds, the most by a Tiger in a single-game since Katie DeFilippo took 16 against Appalachian State in 2011.
Saves, Saves, Saves
Towson continues to lead both the nation and the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in the saves. The Tigers are the top ranked Division I team for saves per game with 12.38. They also rank fifth for save percentage at .811. As an individual, junior goalkeeper
Emilee Woodall has the second-most saves per game among DI goalies with 10.63 and is seventh for save percentage (.810).
Offensive is Clicking
Towson's offense came alive last weekend as Towson tallied three goals to defeat LIU Brooklyn 3-1 for its second win of the season. That was the most goals in a game since Towson's 4-2 win over Lehigh in 2015. The Tigers also won the shot battle for the first time all season, recording a season-high 20 shots against LIU Brooklyn. Those 20 shots were the most shots in a single game by the Tigers since Towson took 27 against Appalachian State in 2011.
Defensive Dynamos
Towson has recorded three defensive saves this season, tied for the second-most in the CAA. Last season, the Tigers led the CAA and finished third among DI teams for defensive saves with 16. Sophomore
