Kicking Off
It's another split week for the Tigers as Towson hosts Hofstra Thursday afternoon at the Tiger Soccer Complex, followed by Towson's longest road trip of the 2017 season to low country for a matchup at College of Charleston. Game time for the Thursday tilt is set for 3 p.m., while Sunday's action at Patriots Point kicks off at 2 p.m.

Scouting the Tigers
The Tigers split their results last week, topping Elon 2-1 on Thursday before falling to a penalty kick at Drexel on Sunday. Towson snapped a long scoreless drought on Thursday, but could not find the goal on Sunday. Maddie Bové (3g, 2a, 8p) took over the points lead with her marker on Thursday. McKenzie McCaull, who missed Thursday's game after a red card, is second on the team with seven points (2g, 3a). Sarah Quick is nipping at McCaull's heels with four points (2g). Towson's defense continues to be stout, allowing a shade over a goal per outing (1.08). Towson has allowed 14 goals on 207 opponent shots (0.069 shooting percentage). Tiger keeper Taylor Sebolao has knocked aside 74 opponents shots at an 84.1 percent clip.

The Series: Hofstra (8-3-2, 4-0-0 CAA)
Thursday will be a rivalry renewed as Towson and Hofstra meet for the 24th time since the series began in 1995. Towson and Hofstra were members of the America East Confernece, which added a 4-2 shootout in the 2001 conference tournament to the long history. The Tigers will look to halt a six-game slide against the Pride. The last time these two foes met in Towson was a 2-1 double overtime win for Hofstra. The last two games have been decided by one goal.

The Series: Charleston (5-5-1, 0-2-1 CAA)
Unlike the series with Hofstra, Towson and the College of Charleston have only met four times. The all-time series is split at 1-1-2. Towson won the first CAA meeting 2-1 in South Carolina before the series fell into a pair of scoreless draws. Charleston won 2-1 last season in Towson behind a goal in the 49th minute. Every game in the series has been decided by one goal or a tie. The Tigers are unbeaten at Patriots Point with a 1-0-1 mark in the young series.

Taylor Sebolao made four saves in the game as Hofstra could only get five of its 17 shots on goal.

Last Time Out vs. Charleston
Towson looked to mount a come back at home against Charleston as Marissa Green cut the Cougars' lead in half, 2-1, in the 83rd minute thanks to an Emily Marshall feed. Charleston struck twice prior to that goal, once in the 14th minute and again in the 49th, to take a 2-0 lead. Taylor Sebolao was busy in the Tiger goal, making eight saves against 10 shots on goal out of 20 total shots.

With a Win Sunday
- The Tigers would improve to 2-0-1 at Patriots Point.
- The Tigers would take control of the series at 3-1-2.
- Towson would halt a two-game road losing streak and pick up its first road win since August 31 at Lehigh.

Rookie of the Week Honors
After burying what stood up as the game-winning goal last Thursday against Elon, Sam Lotti was selected as the CAA Rookie of the Week, despite her redshirt sophomore tag. Lotti scored her first career goal on her first career shot. She returned to the game field this season after missing her first two seasons with Towson following a pair of leg surgeries.

All-Time on October 5
Thursday's game will be the first time in program history Towson plays a CAA game on October 5. The last time the Tigers played on that date was during the 2001 campaign, a 1-0 home loss against Boston University in America East action.

The Tigers are 2-5-0 all-time on this date, including an 0-2-0 mark against Hofstra. However, both of the previous October 5 meetings against the Pride have been on the road.

All-Time on October 8
Sunday will be the Tigers' seventh game all-time on October 8. Towson is meeting Charleston for the first time on that date. The Tigers are 2-4-0 all-time on October including a 1-2-0 mark on the road. This marks the second-straight season Towson is playing a game on October 8 after falling 2-1 in double over on a Saturday last season to James Madison.

Walking the Razor's Edge
On Sunday, the Tigers played their 12th game this season that was decided by one goal or resulted in a tie. That's not a new trend for Towson over the years. Since 2012, the Tigers have played double-digit one-goal or tie games in every season. Over that stretch, that is 72 games that have resulted in a one-goal decision or a tie. The high-water mark was 15 during the 2013 and 2015 season. Towson has six regular season games remaining on the schedule.

Saves on Saves on Saves
So far in 2017, the Tigers and redshirt senior Taylor Sebolao have made 76 saves. Of those, 74 belong to Sebolao with two team saves in the fold. Towson ranks 53rd in the country in saves per game, averaging 5.85 per outing. Towson leads the CAA in saves per game and the third-best goals against average (1.023).

Who's it Going to be...
So far this season, the Tigers have had a versatile scoring corps. Six different players have a goal, with three of those notching multiple tallies. Four different Tigers have put away game-winning goals this season: Sarah Quick (Longwood), Evelyn Neidert (Loyola), Sam Lotti (Elon) and Elizabeth Coletti (Lehigh).

Movin' On Up
Redshirt senior goalie Taylor Sebolao has turned aside 74 shots in 2017. Throughout her career, Sebolao has made 292 saves, which currently ranks her sixth all-time in program history. She trails Jocelyn Papciak's 308 for fourth all-time. Last week, Sebolao made 14 saves in two games to surpass Michelle Robinson's mark of 257.

We Have That in Common(wealth)
The August 31 game in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania marked the second game the Tigers played in one of the country's four Commonwealths after playing in Farmville, Virginia the previous weekend at Longwood. The final Commonwealth will be an October 19 game at Northeastern in Boston, Massachusetts. The only Commonwealth the Tigers will not play in this season is Kentucky.

Opposite Sides of the Country
Two freshmen joined the Tigers in 2017 with Afton Kalkoske and Hannah Warner matriculating to Towson this fall. Despite sharing a class, the pair have an entire country between their hometowns. Warner hails from nearby Bel Air, Maryland, roughly 20 miles from campus. Kalkoske arrived in the Greater Baltimore area from La Quinta, California, some 2,600 miles from Towson University.

Free Clinic: Monday, Oct. 20
Looking for something to do with the kids on Friday, October 20 while schools are out? Fear not! Towson women's soccer has the solution.

On the teacher work day in Baltimore County, the Tigers will host a free youth clinic for kids from kindergarten to eighth grade. The clinic will be held at the Tiger Soccer Complex from 1-4 p.m.

How much is the youth clinic? It's FREE to those who attend a home game between Sunday, August 20 and October 15. Just two more chances to catch the Tigers at home in 2017!

Can't make it to a game, but still want to attend? The Tigers are asking a $10 donation to the program in lieu of attendance at any game this season.
