Tigers Head to William & Mary on Sunday

On the Road Again: The Towson University women's basketball team hits the road for one of its final road trips of the season on Sunday, Feb. 12. The Tigers head to William & Mary for a 2 p.m. tip from Kaplan Arena. Links to live stats and the video feed can be found on schedule page of TowsonTigers.com. Fans can also follow the Tigers on Twitter (@Towson_WBB) for updates.

Series History: Sunday's contest will be the 31st meeting all-time between the Tigers and Tribe. William & Mary leads the series with Towson, 17-13. However, the Tigers have won two straight after claiming a 64-60 win when the two teams met in Towson in January. Junior forward Mary Cuevas and redshirt sophomore center Maia Lee each posted a double-double to lead the Tigers to that victory in SECU Arena.

Seeing Double: A pair of Tigers scored in double figures in Friday night's contest against UNCW. Senior guard Raven Bankston and sophomore guard Sianni Martin each posted 12 points against the Seahawks. For Bankston it was the 13th straight game she recorded double-digits in a contest. She has now scored in double figures in 22 of 23 games this season. Martin has posted double-digits in seven of the last eight games and 18 games this season.

Taking the Ball Inside: The Tigers continue to find ways to pound the ball inside. Towson scored 22 points in the paint against UNCW while holding the Seahawks to just six points in the paint. It was the 17th time this season the Tigers have won the battle of the points in the paint. It was also the third time this season the Tigers have held an opponent to single digits in the points in the paint category.

The Big 9-0-0: Towson senior guard Raven Bankston enters play Sunday with a chance to reach a scoring milestone. Bankston, who has already scored the 1,000th point of her career, enters the weekend with 867 points in 53 games as a Tiger. Bankston needs 33 more points to become the 25th player in program history with 900 or more career points. She would also become the first Tiger since Dominique Johnson to score 900 or more career points as a Tiger.

Take Care of the Basketball: Players in Sunday's game will want to take special care when handling the basketball as the game pits two of the top teams in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) for steals per game against each other. Towson is averaging 10.4 steals per game, which ranks second in the CAA while William & Mary is posting 10.7 steals per game, which leads the league. The two teams combined for 30 steals the first time they met this season.

Up Next: Following the game at William & Mary, the Tigers return home for a pair of games. Towson hosts Drexel (Feb. 17) and Northeastern (Feb. 19).
