TAF Donor of the Game: Doug Lane

TOWSON, Md. – The Tiger Athletic Fund (TAF) Donor of the Game was awarded to Doug Lane during Thursday's men's basketball game versus Drexel at SECU Arena.

Doug graduated from Towson in 1987 with a degree in computer science. He was a student-athlete as a member of the men's cross country and track & field teams. Doug gives back to his alma-mater as a donor and has been a men's basketball season ticket holder since 2015.

"I give back to the Tigers for two reasons," explains Doug. "First, while I was attending college, I worked full-time during the day and attended classes at night. I was fortunate that an institution like Towson existed; where I could benefit from a high-quality curriculum taught by both full-time and part-time faculty who were active in business and industry. The combination of my work experience, the expertise of the faculty, and the quality of the program(s) prepared me well to start a career in information technology.  The value of Towson was exceptional compared to other institutions. Secondly, I believe that our business leaders need to be involved in the community.  We have to be selective with where we commit our time and monetary contributions. I believe that supporting Towson University, along with the entire state of Maryland, is a great way to improve our community."

"We are extremely thankful for Doug and the legacy he is leaving at Towson," said Dan Crowley, associate athletic director for development. "He is setting the example for all alumni of the University and embodies what it means to have Black & Gold pride."

The Tiger Athletic Fund thanks Doug for his continued support of Towson Athletics. To join them in supporting student-athlete scholarships click here.
