TOWSON, Md. – Week five of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) conference schedule sees the Towson University women's soccer team host back-to-back home matches.
This week, the Tigers host James Madison on Thursday afternoon for a 3 p.m. game. The Tigers face off against College of Charleston on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match.

Last Time Out
Towson fell 2-0 in league play on Sunday at Elon. The Tigers had a strong first half against the Phoenix. Megan Collins made two saves on the afternoon and Towson out-shot Elon 20-10. Towson had 17 shots in the first half but could not find the back of the net.
The Series: James Madison (James Madison leads 0-16-0)
Towson is looking for its first-ever win over the Dukes in the 17th meeting all-time between the programs. Towson fell in a heartbreaking overtime match last season. For the first time in series history the two teams had back-to-back games that would force overtime.
The Series: College of Charleston (College of Charleston leads 1-2-2)
Like the match with James Madison last year the Tigers saw themselves in another overtime match against College of Charleston. It was an even contest throughout with both teams taking 10 shots.
Scouting the Tigers (3-10-1, 0-4-0 CAA)
Towson is looking to snap a four-game losing skid with the match on Thursday against James Madison. Justine Stoner leads the Tigers with 11 points on five goals and one assist the season. Evelyn Neidert has two goals while Nikki Logan and McKenzie McCaull have one goal apiece. Megan Collins has a total of 1,304 minutes of action with 66 saves on the season.
Scouting the Dukes (5-7, 2-1 CAA)
James Madison opened league play with a win over Drexel and Hofstra and a loss to Northeastern. Haley Crawford leads the Dukes with 13 points on four goals and five assists this season. Ginger Deel is right behind her with three goals this season. Seven other players have scored at least once for the Dukes. Goalie Hannah McShea has 38 saves for the season.
Scouting the Cougars (8-5, 3-1 CAA)
This will be the Cougars' third game on the road after having back-to-back victories at Elon and Delaware. Laura Ortega is leading the way with five goals and three assists this season. Alyssa Beck is right behind with four goals and two assists. The Cougars have three goalies that have all played this season with Genevieve Henderson playing in all the games and making 37 saves.
Tigers in the Community
On Sept. 15, members of the Towson University women's soccer team visited the Aigburth Manor Block Party to play with neighborhood children and meet members of the area. The Tigers were joined by members of the University's Civic Engagement & Social Responsibility organization as well.
