TOWSON, Md. – The Tiger Athletic Fund (TAF) Donor of the Game Presented by Spirit Cruises was awarded to The Wasserman Family during Saturday afternoon's football game against The Citadel at Johnny Unitas ® Stadium.

Despite living full time in Texas, Jay and Tina Wasserman are no strangers to Towson University. Jay, a 1987 alumnus and former football player, does his best to support the TU football team as often as he can and makes it back to see at least one game a year. Jay and Tina travel to Towson in the spring as well, this time to cheer on their middle son, Casey, a sophomore attacker on the men's lacrosse team.

Regardless of their location, whether they are here on campus or back home in Texas, the Wassermans never rest in their pursuit to support Towson Athletics. In 2016, the couple started a scholarship endowment to honor of one of Jay's former teammates, Wardell Turner, who lost his life oversees in 2014 while serving our country. The scholarship is awarded each year to a defensive back here at TU that carries the same leadership attributes that Wardell displayed as a Tiger. Most recently, Jay and Tina have committed to a significant, six-figure gift towards the Athletics Practice Fields Project which will break ground in early November.
