TAF Donor of the Game: Doug Patrick

TOWSON, Md. – The Tiger Athletic Fund (TAF) Donor of the Game was awarded to Doug Patrick during Thursday's men's basketball game on Feb. 15 versus Delaware at SECU Arena.

Doug has been a donor and men's basketball season ticket holder since 2012.

"I love college basketball," reflects Doug. "I made the decision that I wanted to start watching it live. It was about that same time that SECU Arena was opening and I decided to take a tour. During the tour I became very impressed what TU had done with its Arena and the commitment they made to the basketball program(s) and the university. I made the immediate decision to become a season ticket holder and learned that my donation would assist the athletic program and the student athletes which of course only made the decision easier.  I just completed my fifth season and I'm very happy with my decision. I plan to be a season ticket holder for many years to come."

"Doug is setting a great example for members of the Towson community that don't necessarily have a deep connection to the university," said Dan Crowley, associate athletic director for development. "You don't have to be an alumni or employee of the university to start getting involved and making an impact."

As a season ticket holder, Doug is also an annual donor to the Tiger Athletic Fund. "I am very happy to support TU athletics and its student-athletes. I know it's not easy for student-athletes to balance their studies and athletics but they gladly do it because they love their sport. I am a huge sports fan so I appreciate the dedication that student athletes devote to their sport. All their hard work is then on display for me to watch and enjoy, so anytime I can financially support TU athletics I will gladly do so."
