TOWSON, Md. - Towson University women's gymnastics junior
Cortni Baker was selected as the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week on Tuesday. She shares the honor this week with North Carolina's Khazia Hislop.
Baker is the fourth different Tiger to earn EAGL weekly honors in the last two seasons and the second this season after senior
Lauren Cahalan was named EAGL Specialist of the Week on January 16.
Baker totaled a career-high 9.900 to finish second on vault Friday night in a tri-meet with George Washington and Rutgers as the Tigers totaled the 10th-highest score in program history and second-highest under head coach
Vicki May. She also had a career-high 9.875 on bars to finish in a tie for second.
In a quad meet on Sunday at George Washington with Maryland and Rutgers, Baker finished second on vault with a 9.875.
Baker currently fourth in the league on vault with North Carolina's Madison Nettles.
The Tigers travel to Williamsburg, Virginia next Saturday, March 10 for a meet with William & Mary beginning at 3 p.m. The meet will also feature the Tribe's men's gymnastics team who will be hosting Army West Point.
