TOWSON, Md. – The Tiger Athletic Fund (TAF) Donor of the Game was awarded to Don and Bonnie Fry during Saturday's men's basketball game versus Northeastern at SECU Arena.
The Frys define what it means to be part of Tiger Nation and go above and beyond the average fan. Season ticket holders in both football and basketball, they are regulars at all Tiger home games and sit courtside under the home basket in SECU Arena. No strangers to being on the sidelines, the Fry's cheered for their son, Matt, during his career as a member of the Towson men's golf team from 2010-14. Bonnie is also a Towson graduate, completing her bachelors in 1975 and then her masters of education in 1985. Don is a 1979 graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law. He earned a B.S. in political science from Frostburg State College.
Post graduation, Don and Bonnie are just as active and continue to support the Tiger Athletic Fund with annual contributions, and volunteering their time to plan the annual Hall of Fame Black & Gold Golf Invitational—which raises over $20,000 and held every August to kick-off a new year of Tiger Athletics.
To thank the Frys for all that they do, TAF presented them with a framed picture of the Tigers in action, signed by the 2017-18 men's basketball team.
"Towson Athletics would simply not be what it is today without the passion and loyalty of the Fry's" said
Dan Crowley, associate athletic director for development. "We are so thankful for all that they have done and continue to do for the Tigers."
