BOX SCORE LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Friday night the Towson University field hockey team took a loss to Lock Haven in Pennsylvania 6-0. The Tigers move to 0-3 on the season while the Bald Eagles improve to 2-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The home team scored first in the third minute of play and responded three minutes later with a second goal, only to score a third in the seventh minute and take a quick advantage.
- In the 13th minute LHU scored again before a penalty situation came about with 15 minutes until halftime and Alyscia Smith's penalty shot was good, taking a 5-0 lead into the locker room.
- Through the first half the home team dominated with 10 total shots while Towson was unable to break the silence.
- In the second period the Bald Eagles got started early with a shot in the 36th minute that was saved by freshman goalkeeper Mackenzie Peacock, who saw her first college minutes in the net.
- The Tigers were led offensively by senior Katie McNeel who finished with three shots.
- In the 57th minute LHU scored its final goal of the game to seal the win.
BEHIND THE NUMBERS
- This season continues to be a time for transition and learning for Towson as 19 different players saw the field tonight, including both goalies.
- McNeel is the only Tiger with a goal so far this season and for her second straight game came out offensively swinging to try and get her team on the board.
- Peacock finished with three saves in her collegiate debut.

The weekend of games continues for Towson as the team travels back to Maryland for a game against Sacred Heart on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Johnny Unitas ® Stadium.
