TOWSON, Md. – Tom Flacco's stellar performance of 438 total yards of offense vs. The Citadel has earned him the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Offensive Player of the Week award, announced on Monday.
This is the second time this year, and second straight week with a Towson University game due to a bye week on Sept. 22, that Flacco has picked up this weekly award.
As a team, Towson has earned three CAA Player of the Week awards, with
Aidan O'Neill having the third.
Flacco served at quarterback for Towson's home-opening 44-27 victory over The Citadel on Saturday, sending the Tigers to 3-1 on the year, the best start to a season since 2013.
The redshirt junior's 438 yards of offense came on 185 yards rushing, a new Towson single game record for a quarterback, and 253 yards in the air off 15 completions. He earned four touchdowns, two passing and two rushing.
