TOWSON, Md. – Towson University women's gymnastics freshman
Emerson Hurst was selected as the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.
Hurst won the honor after her three-event performance which led the Tigers to a season-high team score of 194.075-192.975 over William & Mary.
In the dual meet she won the vault title with a 9.775, tied for second on beam with a 9.850 and tied for sixth on the floor with a 9.700.
She is ranked first in the league on balance beam with an average score of 9.867 and a high score of 9.875 and 24
th in the nation with the 14
th highest average score of 9.867.
Other winners include Danielle Mulligan (UNH) as EAGL Gymnast of the Week and Mikayla Robinson (UNC) as EAGL Specialist of the Week.
The Tigers are back in action at home in SECU Arena on Sunday, Feb. 3 against West Chester University. The meet is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
