TOWSON, Md. – Redshirt sophomore Kionna Jeter has been named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Honorable Mention Player of the Week for January 7.
 
This is Jeter's second weekly award of the year as she was named Player of the Week the first week of the 2018-19 season.
 
Over the weekend Jeter led the way to two important victories for the Towson University women's basketball team. Friday at Drexel the Spartanburg, South Carolina native scored 21 points, had five rebounds and four steals. Against the Dragons Jeter had just four points at halftime before dropping 17 in the second half to lift the Tigers to their first win over Drexel since 2010.
 
Sunday afternoon at Delaware was a similar story as the guard had eight points at the half, she scored seven in the third and 10 more in the fourth, totaling to 24.
 
The CAA's leading scorer shot 44.1 percent on the weekend including 30.7 from three and 91.6 from the free throw line. On Sunday Jeter was a perfect 7-for-7 at the line. She also had 14 total rebounds including nine on Sunday, she was one away from a double-double.
 
Jeter and the Tigers will be back in action this Friday night against league-leading Northeastern at 7 p.m. in SECU Arena.
