FRIDAY FAB 5 OCTOBER 11

TOWSON, Md. – The 2019-20 Towson University men's basketball season is here. The Tigers return 10 players from last season and have an exciting schedule this season. To help fans get hyped, each Friday through Nov. 1, there will be five random facts about the Tigers, their schedule, players, program and more heading into their season.

This is the third of six installments. Enjoy.

1. Fans can get a glimpse at the 2019-20 Towson University men's basketball team by attending the Black-and-Gold open scrimmage on Saturday, October 12 at SECU Arena beginning at 1 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

2. The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved a proposal in June to move back the men's basketball three-point line in college basketball to the international basketball distance of 22 feet, 1 ¾ inches. Since 2008, the three-point arc has rested at 20 feet, 9 inches from the center of the basket.

3. Juwan Gray is excited to begin the season after transferring from San Diego. In two years at San Diego, Gray scored 426 points and made 36.4 percent of his shots from 3-point distance. He's also a 45.6 percent shooter from the field. Did you know that Gray was born in Mississippi and now calls Delaware home. He has the Delaware area code tattooed on his arm.

4. Towson's first three Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) games are against the schools that were picked among the top three in the preseason predicted order of finish released earlier this week. Towson opens CAA play at home against Northeastern on Dec. 28 (picked third) and Hofstra on Dec. 30 (preseason favorite) before visiting the College of Charleston on Jan. 2 (picked second).

5. Sophomore Solomon Uyaelunmo appeared in 32 games last season and started three games. His first career start was at UMBC in a game Towson won in double overtime. Uyaelunmo averaged 5.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 15.9 minutes and he was 13th in the CAA in offensive rebounds per game (1.5). This season, Uyaelunmo's older brother, Victor transferred to the Tigers from USC. The brothers will play with each other for two years beginning next season.

Towson begins its season against George Washington at SECU Arena on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. It's the second half of a women's-men's doubleheader. The Towson women host Penn State at 4 p.m.
