Swimming Spotlight
Before each meet, the swimming and diving program will introduce us to someone in the senior class who will share highlights and their expectations of the season. This meet we introduce you to senior
Kalyn Fetter. Hailing from Mooresville, North Carolina the business major will compete in the breaststroke and individual medley.
The swimming program takes great pride in performing well in the pool, in the classrooms and in the community and Fetter has the goal to keep that going.
"This season I am looking forward to becoming the best team we can possibly be, both in and out of the pool. This is my last year to make a direct impact on the team, so I am excited to have the opportunity to help push this team to new standards," said Fetter.
Everyone knows the success of a great team is the dynamic and team energy that comes from behind the scenes and it is one thing the Tigers are good at providing.
"Since day one, our team dynamic has been strong. Everyone continues to push each other during practice and hold each other accountable, all while having a blast when it is time to race. That is ultimately what will make or break our success," said Fetter.
As Fetter is making sure the encouragement and level of intensity stays at its all-time high she personally is looking forward to the Bucknell Invitational. It's been one of her favorite meets since her freshman year.
Of course, before Fetter and Towson compete at Bucknell they will compete this weekend against Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) foe William & Mary in a dual match.
"I think everyone knows during the dual meet season, Towson vs. William & Mary means time to go fast," said Fetter.
"We work really hard leading up to the meet, and need to carry over our energy and attitudes into the meet on Saturday. Both teams have strong swimmers, so it should be a great meet!"
Throughout the season you will see Fetter working to improve her times because one day she hopes to see her name on the TU Top 10 All-Time list in the 200 breaststroke.
