NEW MARKET, Va. - Saturday morning the Towson University cross country team competed in the 2019 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship. Sophomore
Olivia Janke led the Tigers and finished second individually.
Towson finished fifth as a team out of nine. The fifth-place finish is the highest since the 2016 season.
How it Happened
- Olivia Janke finished second out of 86 runners, her time for the 6,000 kilometer race was 20 minutes, 41 seconds.
- Next across the line for the Tigers was Kylie Anicic who came in 17th with a time of 21:43.
- Mckenzie Delahanty came in 22nd, she finished in 21 minutes, 48.1 seconds.
- Seven other Tigers finished outside the top-50.
- Towson's average time for the event was 22:04 and the Tigers finished ahead of Northeastern, Charleston, Hofstra and UNCW as a team.
- Elon won the team title as Scolasticah Kemei won the race individually. Delaware and William & Mary came in second and third respectively and James Madison finished fourth.

The Tigers look to compete in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet in two weeks hosted by Lehigh.
