TOWSON, Md. – Another home game is on tap for the Towson University women's lacrosse team Tuesday night with a 7 p.m. start against No. 19 Johns Hopkins.
This is the final nonconference game of the season for the Tigers before the team travels to No. 10 James Madison on Sunday. The game will be streamed on the Towson Sports Network with

Last Time Out
Towson is coming off a 15-13 victory over Yale on Saturday at home. The Tigers were led by
Shelby Stack and
Natalie Sulmonte who had five goals apiece. Sulmonte led the home team with four goals at the half, including three in the first 10 minutes. Kaitlin and
Kerri Thornton each tallied two goals, with the game-winner coming from the latter, while
Rayna Deltuva put the exclamation point on the win with 36 seconds to go.
The Hopkins Series
Tomorrow will be the 25th meeting between the two teams separated by just 4.8 miles. The Blue Jays lead the series 14-10 but Towson has won the last three meetings. In 2016
Carly Tellekamp led the Tigers to a 9-4 victory with four goals and an assist, breaking a five-game losing skid. Last season Towson took one-goal, 9-8, win on the road and in 2017 Towson dominated in an 18-5 victory at home.

Scouting the Blue Jays
Johns Hopkins is led by Maggie Schneidereith with 32 goals and 16 assists for 48 points. She is 29th in the nation in total points, 27th in points per game. Miranda Ebello leads in assists with 20, Shelby Harrison has a team-best 53 draw controls on the year, and two players have 21 ground balls tying for the team-high. Aurora Cordingley leads the team in caused turnovers with 16, six total players have 10 or more caused turnovers this season. In the net, Haley Crosson has 77 saves on the year and a .423 save percentage.
Thornton: CAA Rookie of the Week
Freshman
Kerri Thornton is the first Tiger to collect a weekly award this season. The Long Island native scored two goals for the second straight game and had a team-high four draw controls in Saturday's win over Yale. Thornton also had two caused turnovers and picked up one ground ball.

Sami Chenoweth leads the country in caused turnovers per game (4.2) the Tigers are 14th as a team (11.44 per game).
Olivia Conti is currently fifth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.56).
Kiley Keating is in the top-75 nationally in goalie statistics including 31st in saves per game (9.67) and is 48th in ground balls per game (2.78).
Towson in Conference Stats
Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play is in view, this weekend the Tigers travel to James Madison for their first conference game of the season.

Schedule Strength Update: STRONG
As of Monday, April 1, Towson's schedule is the 10th-toughest in the nation. The Tigers face two ranked opponents this week with seven ranked teams already behind them. Towson is the lone CAA representative in the top-10 of toughest schedule rankings, one of three mid-major teams listed as two Ivy League teams are in the top-five.
Promotional Updates
The Towson University women's lacrosse team updated its promotional schedule for the remaining home games. Tomorrow's game will be Own Your Roar, highlighting mental health in conjunction with the student organization founded by TU gymnast Olivia Lubarsky. Next Friday, April 12 will be One Love and Sunday, April 14 will be Youth Day. The regular season finale will be Senior Day on Sunday, April 21. Alumnae appreciation will also take place on Friday, April 12.
Tigers in the Community
In February, Towson University's athletic teams were celebrated as national champions after winning the NCAA Team Works Helper Helper Competition. The competition was open to all Division I programs and the Tigers finished on top with a total of 5,583 community service hours completed from September to November 2018 in the Greater Baltimore Area.
