RICHMOND, Va. - For the week of Jan. 13, Towson University women's basketball redshirt-junior Kionna Jeter was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week.

Jeter helped Towson to a 2-0 week including a nonconference game against Chestnut Hill on Wednesday night. Against the Griffins she scored 13 points, had four steals and five rebounds.

Sunday afternoon the Spartanburg, South Carolina native led the Tigers to victory against league-leading JMU. She paced Towosn with 27 points in a season-high 39 minutes while shooting 50 percent from the field. Jeter made 9-of-18 field goal attempts on her way to then scoring the game-winning layup.

With 6.1 seconds on the clock, Q. Murray set the inbound pass to Jeter who drove into the lane and scored with just 2.2 for JMU to respond, in which they did not.

On the week Jeter scored 40 points, had 12 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals. She has now scored double-figure points in 16-straight games, dating back to last March against Drexel in the CAA Championship game.

This is Jeter's first weekly accolade of the season and her fourth career CAA Player of the Week award.
