UNCASVILLE, Conn. – With the start of the season today, the Towson University men's basketball team has selected Juwan Gray as this year's team captain.
"We named Juwan a captain because he has done a great job on and off the court for us," said head coach Pat Skerry. "We look forward to him being back healthy and utilizing his versatile skill set. We are also counting on his maturity and experience to aid our squad as we develop this year."
Gray, a redshirt senior forward from Dover, Delaware, averaged seven points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season, including seven double digit scoring contests. Including two years played at San Diego, Gray has competed in 89 career games with 593 points, 387 rebounds and 57 blocks.
Towson begins the season today against No. 4 Virginia at 1:30 p.m. at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
