TOWSON, Md. – The nonconference schedule continues this week for the Towson University women's lacrosse team with a road trip down York Road to No. 12/10 Loyola.

Last Time Out
The Tigers are coming off a tough 13-12 loss at Saint Joseph's over the weekend. Both teams traded goals to start before the road team took a four-goal advantage. Entering the locker room at halftime Towson was leading 9-5.
Rayna Deltuva scored the first goal of the second half and the Tigers appeared to be cruising. That was not the case as the Hawks then scored the next four goals unanswered, cutting into the lead 11-9 with 16 minutes to go. Towson did not score for an entire 18 minutes in the second half as Saint Joseph's took the lead 12-11 with 6:30 on the clock. Freshman
Blair Pearre scored her third goal of the day tying it up 12-12 with 3:29 remaining. Neither team allowed a goal in the next two minutes until the Hawks scored with 46 seconds left and held on defensively in the next Towson possession.

Sara Tyssowski played the final 15 minutes of the game. Together the pair has 14 saves, Merlo with 13.
Scouting the Greyhounds
Loyola is coming off its 11th straight win at home, after defeating Hopkins on Saturday at Ridley Athletic Complex. The Greyhounds took their 16-7 win over then-No. 24 Johns Hopkins led by sophomore Jillian Wilson with four goals and six draws. Junior attack Livy Rosenzweig finished with two goals and four assists as she contributed a team-high six points. Greyhound goalkeeper Kaitlyn Larsson started and played the entire 60 on Saturday, finishing with 12 saves on a .632 save percentage with 30 shots faced. Loyola is currently ranked No. 12 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll and No. 10 on the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll, it will be Towson's first ranked opponent of the season. The Greyhounds were selected to win the Patriot League this year after finishing 9-0 in the conference last season advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Loyola Series
A storied rivalry that dates back to 1973, this will be the 48th meeting between Towson and Loyola. The Greyhounds have won five of the last seven meetings and took a win last March at Johnny Unitas ® Stadium, a 12-6 final. Loyola leads the series 34-13. Towson's last win in the series came in 2017.

Tigers In The Community
The Towson University athletics department deems community service as one of its highest priorities to give back to the Greater Baltimore area. For the seventh consecutive year, the department exceeded 10,000 hours of community service to the Greater Baltimore region, finishing with 11,162 hours of community service in the 2018-19 academic season. Towson ranked No. 1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition. Towson had a 97% participation rate, attended 118 community service opportunities and volunteered with 19 organizations. Towson won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
