WASHINGTON, D.C. – Jakigh Dottin kept attacking the basket.
Brian Fobbs continued scoring and soaring for rebounds.
Nicolas Timberlake displayed continuous hustle in swatting shots.
The Tigers battled hard and showcased their grit, character and heart that was their hallmark during a memorable season.
Unfortunately, the end occurred at 10:35 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time as a 16-point second half deficit and a hot shooting Northeastern team were too much to overcome during a tough 72-62 setback in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) men's basketball quarterfinal at the Entertainment & Sports Arena Sunday night.
The loss ended the careers of Fobbs,
Dennis Tunstall and
Nakye Sanders. They all played with pride and passion during their time representing the black-and-gold. They combined for 39 points and 17 rebounds in their final appearance as Tigers.
While this wasn't the result Towson had in mind, however, when the tears stop and the hurt subsides, the Tigers can reflect on a season in which they finished with 19 victories for the fifth time in the last nine years, had five players earn All-CAA accolades and enjoyed a seven-game winning streak to close January.
