TOWSON, Md. — Myles Jackson, Jasmine Allen and Aaron Thomas have all been elevated to new acting roles on the Towson women's basketball coaching staff as announced Thursday by head coach Diane Richardson.
After being promoted to Director of Basketball Operations in 2019, Jackson has been named the acting Assistant Coach. In turn, Allen was been elevated to the acting Director of Basketball Operations and Thomas has been brought on as the acting Assistant Director of Basketball Operations.
All three will be in an acting capacity until a full recruitment is conducted after the season.
Myles Jackson
Over a seven-year span, Jackson has rose through the ranks of Towson women's basketball from student manager to acting assistant coach. After serving as a manager and scout team player for the team for four years during his undergraduate years, Jackson was hired as the program's first-ever Assistant Director of Basketball Operations in 2018. After one year in the role, he was promoted to Director of Basketball Operations in fall of 2019.
As the Director of Basketball Operations, Jackson coordinated all schedules for the team and coaching staff. Jackson constructed travel itineraries and schedules for longer trips to San Diego and Puerto Rico, along with the conference schedule.
During the 2020-21 season and the global COVID-19 Pandemic, Jackson handled efforts to keep the team safe and healthy while playing at SECU Arena and on the road. He crafted travel plans and schedules while adhering to COVID-19 testing protocols and other unique measures put into place.
Jackson has also aided with scouting and film breakdown for game preparations, as well as day-to-day management of team activities over his tenure as the Director of Basketball Operations. In the summer of 2018, he also was a camp coach for the men's basketball head coach Pat Skerry's Men's Basketball Camp.
Jasmine Allen
Allen was hired in 2019 as the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations after graduating from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and a minor in Business Administration. In the position, Allen helped the Director of Basketball Operations with travel logistics, game and practice preperations as well as other assigned tasks.
In 2015, Allen started her work with Towson Athletics as a Football Student Recruiting Assistant where she was assigned to work with the quarterbacks. The following year, Allen joined the Towson women's basketball team as a student manager.
In addition to internships with Maryland State Youth Soccer Association and Jersey Express Soccer Organization, Allen has also worked extensively with USA Basketball in a multitude of roles. She served as support staff for a variety of USA Basketball team tryouts and camps during the summers of 2018 to 2020 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She helped with U16-U19 Women's Team Trials, Pan-American Women's Team Trials, and U18 Men's and Women's 3x3 Team Camp. Allen also aided with facility set up, score keeping, shot clock operation and statistics during scrimmages. In addition, she coordinated apparel distribution, travel plans and on-court practice demonstrations.
In 2018, Allen attended the Women's National Team Camp and accompanied the Senior Women's National Team on road trips for practices and exhibition games in New York and Washington D.C. ahead of the 2018 FIBA World Cup.
Through work with USA Basketball, Allen was given the opportunity to work for the NBA's 2020 Season Restart Bubble in Orlando, Florida. As a Team Attendant, she worked in game day operations for assigned NBA teams. Her tasks included helping with bus unloading, locker room and court set up in addition to sponsorship court signage. Allen also assisted team equipment managers and athletic trainers pregame, during and post-game. Her other responsibilities included rebounding during pregame and halftime, planning warmups, organizing players entering and exiting the game and post-game cleanup.
Aaron Thomas
Thomas began working with the Towson women's basketball team in 2018 as a scout team player and student manager. He performed tasks such as setting up the locker room and court, bus unloading, equipment organization and aiding with practices and bench management.
Prior to the start of the 2020-21 season, Thomas was promoted to head student manager and video coordinator. In the role, he filmed and edited highlights in addition to helping with the recording of practices and games. He also captured photos and produced documentary films.
Prior to coming to Towson, Thomas played basketball at Albright College (2014-15) and then Montgomery College (2015-16). At Montgomery, he helped his team to win the MDJUCO Championship, their first title since 1992. He graduated from Montgomery in 2017 with an Associate of Arts Degree in Mass Communications.
Thomas graduated from Towson in 2021 with Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media & Film.
