Women's Basketball Adds Contest at Seton Hall

Towson, Md. — The Towson University women's basketball team has added a nonconference game to its schedule before getting into Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play in the New Year. Towson (9-1, 0-0 CAA) will travel to take on Seton Hall (6-5, 1-2 BIG EAST) on Jan. 4 for a 7 p.m. contest.

The black & gold last took the court on Dec. 11 when they came out with the 79-61 win over American for their sixth straight victory. The 9-1 start is the best for the Tigers since the 2006-07 campaign when the team started off 10-1.

Looking Into the Pirates

Seton Hall is coming off a pair of wins over Marquette (69-57) and Wagner (70-62). The Pirates have already played three conference opponents and will also face Villanova on Dec. 31 before welcoming the Tigers to Walsh Gymnasium to start off the 2022 portion of their schedule.

Seton Hall's high-scoring offense boasts four student-athletes with double-digit scoring averages. Lauren Park-Lane leads the pack with 17.7 points per game. The Preseason All-BIG EAST selection has also added 78 assists and 19 steals through 11 games. Off the boards, Sidney Cooks paces the squad with 6.8 boards per game while contributing a team-high 10 blocks.

The Pirates own a 2-0 all-time edge over the Tigers, winning games in both 2000 (61-52) and 2001 (69-57).
