As a result of the series split at UNCW, the Tigers slip into a third place tie with Drexel, as both teams have an 8-6 conference record. The Dragons win the tiebreaker between the two programs because both teams split series against James Madison and dropped games two contests each against Delaware. Drexel, however, swept Northeastern while Towson split against the Huskies. The Dukes earned the No. 2 seed, finishing a half-game ahead of both the Tigers and the Dragons.

REIGNING CHAMPS
As the No. 4 seed, Towson went on to win the 2019 CAA Championship Tournament with a victory over Drexel, 53-49. The Tigers also defeated Delaware, Hofstra and Drexel on the way to the title. Due to the cancellation of the 2020 CAA Championship Tournament, the Tigers are still the defending conference champions.
THE HOFSTRA SERIES
(Towson leads 39-35)
This game will mark the 75th meeting between the Tigers and The Pride. Towson has won the last seven contests between the two programs, averaging 77.3 points per game over that span. Under head coach Diane Richardson, the Tigers are 8-1, with the lone blemish coming in February 2018, her first season at the helm. Towson earned a 69-48 win over Hofstra in the Semifinal round of the CAA Tournament before going on to win the championship.
LOOKING INTO THE PRIDE
Hofstra owns a 7-11 (5-7 CAA) record as the No. 5 seed. Since getting swept by Towson in late January, The Pride have only played four addition games. They swept UNCW and split against Northeastern to go 3-1 to end the regular season. The other eight scheduled contests were postponed due to COVID-19 protocols. JaKayla Brown leads Hofstra in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game. Jaylen Hines leads the team on the boards with 7.2 rebounds per contest.
LAST TIME AGAINST HOFSTRA
Towson welcomed Hofstra earlier this season for a pair of games at SECU Arena on Jan. 23 and 24. The Tigers swept the series winning the first contest, 65-60 and the second, 92-64.
