TOWSON, Md. – Towson defender
Erin Williams was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Player of the Week by the league office Tuesday morning.
Last week, the junior caused a career-best four turnovers and had a season-high three groundballs in Towson's win over Georgetown on Saturday. Earlier in the week, the Hereford graduate had a season-best three draw controls against Temple.
A three-year starter, Williams held Stony Brook All-American attacker Tayrn Ohlmiller to one assist on March 7.
Williams is the third Towson player to be recognized this season. Defensive midfielder
Olivia Malamphy earned CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors on February 16, while freshman midfielder
Lindsey Marshall was named Rookie of the Week on March 2.
Joining Williams in this week's conference honor roll are Hofstra's Alyssa Parrella (Player of the Week) and Elon's Margaret Stephen (Rookie of the Week).
Towson (5-2), ranked in the Top 20 in both the IWLCA Coaches (#14) and Inside Lacrosse Media (#16) polls, will visit St. Joseph's Saturday afternoon.
