TOWSON, Md. – Lindsey Marshall was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week by the league office Tuesday morning. The freshman midfielder from nearby Catonsville High School has helped the Towson women's lacrosse team win four consecutive games to begin the 2021 season.
In two victories last week, Marshall scored four goals, assisted on two others and won 10 draw controls. Against then #8 Loyola, she helped the Tigers control 15-of-23 draws in a 13-7 win by winning five and added a goal and two assists. In Sunday's 18-4 triumph over George Mason, she netted her third career hat trick and won five draws.
In four career games, Marshall has 12 points (10 g, 2a), a team-best 19 draw controls, four groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Joining Marshall in this week's conference honors are Drexel's Lucy Schneidereith (Player of the Week) and James Madison's Emma Johnson (Defender of the Week).
