NEWARK, Del. -- The first day of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Swimming & Diving Championships is in the books as the Towson women's diving team wrapped up action Friday afternoon at Rawstrom Natatorium.

Friday opened a week-long CAA Championship run for the Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving programs. Three Tigers represented the women's side at the Diving Championships, hosted by the University of Delaware: Christina Coleman, Sarah DiGaetano and Ashley Sinicropi.

How it Happened

• The women's teams began the two-day event on the 3-meter board while the men dove from the 1-meter board.
• In the preliminary round, Coleman was Towson's top diver, just missing the finals by less than two points. The junior, who most recently competed at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina, posted a 235.10, finishing ninth in the prelims.
• DiGaetano was second for Towson with a 206.35, finishing 16th. Sinicropi was one place behind her in 17th with a 197.30.
• In the consolation finals, Coleman finished third with a 224.70 on the 3-meter board. DiGaetano posted a 200.40.

• The Tigers return to Rawstrom Natatorium on Saturday for the 1-meter diving event on the women's side.
• Preliminary round action begins at 10:30 a.m. with finals at 5 p.m. The 1-meter consolation round is slated for 3:30 p.m.
• The preliminary dives and the final round will be carried on FloSwimming.com.
