Williamsburg, Va. – After two rounds of play at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, Jordan Cornelius is tied for 10th place out of 67 golfers.
The junior is knotted with Longwood's Emma Landis, as both shot 12-over, 156 at the completion of the second round. Oihana Extezerrata of Delaware is currently in first with a score of 149 (+5).
Julia Calomiris will also go into the third round inside the top-20, as she is tied for 17th place with 159 strokes (+15).
Going into the third and final round, the Tigers have a total tournament score of 640 (+64) and are currently in sixth place out of 12 teams.
ROUND ONE
Calomiris led the Tigers through the first-round shooting four-over, 76. She shot one birdie on the fourth hole.
Following closely behind was Cornelius who shot five-over (77). She birdied on the second hole of the back-nine.
Sarah Perine and Faith McIlvain both finished the round shooting 11-over par, 83. Perine also earned two birdies on the fifth and thirteenth holes. Emma Cox carded 26-over, 98.
The team finished the opening 18 holes with a score of 319 (+31).
ROUND TWO
Cornelius and McIlvain topped Towson in the second round as they each respectively carded seven-over, 79. Mcilvain birdied on both the sixth hole and the first hole of the back-nine on her way to shooting 162 for the day.
Cox bounced back in the second round of competition, shooting eight-over, 80. She totaled 178 strokes after 36 holes.
Calomiris carded 11-over par to shoot 83.
Perine shot 20-over, 92 and one birdie. At the end of the second round, the senior shot 175 (+31).
The team shot 33-over par in the second round of play (321).
Towson will play the last round of the tournament on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
