MORGANTON, N.C. – The Towson women's golf team finished ninth at the Mimosa Hills Invitational on Tuesday with a three-round score of 95-over par.
Victoriah Kuranga was the top individual performer for the Tigers, placing 23rd with a score of +19.
Kuranga had her best round of the tournament today, shooting four-over par. She started on hole nine and birdied holes 12, 14 and 15. Kuranga carded one-under par on the course's back nine.
Kalyn Doss had the second best performance by a Towson golfer in the third round with a six-over par round three. Doss birdied hole seven in round three, the second time this tournament.
Payton Balliet improved her standing in the third round, moving up four spots with her best round of the tournament at eight-over par. Balliet parred 10 of the 18 holes on Tuesday.
Kanchana Kanchanaphiboon scored 11-over par in her third round, to total 26-over across all three round.
Grace Oristian shot 14-over par during her third round with a birdie on hole 14 to bring her three-round score to 32-over par.
Kyndall Campbell, competing as an individual, carded 18-over par with a birdie on hole 13. Her three round total was 46-over par.
Charlotte won the tournament at 42-over par. The top three finishers were separated by two strokes with hosts Appalachian State finishing second at 43-over par and Longwood finishing third at 44-over par.
Pinky Chaisilprungruang of Charlotte won the individual title at two-under par. She was the only golfer to shoot under par for the entire tournament. There were three rounds under par turned in by the field, Chaisilprungruang had two of them. This is her third individual victory.
