TOWSON, Md. – Two Tigers,
Zane Martin and
Charles Thompson, have earned honors in the men's basketball postseason awards by the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).
Martin was placed on the All-CAA Second Team while Thompson was selected to the CAA All-Defensive Team.
It is the sixth consecutive year where Towson has placed at least one player on the All-CAA Second Team. Last year,
Brian Fobbs was Towson's All-CAA Second Team honoree. It is also the third year in a row that a Tiger has earned CAA All-Defensive Team honors, with
Dennis Tunstall being on the All-Defensive Team in each 2018-19 and 2019-20.
Martin is a two-time all-conference selection, being Second Team in the 2017-18 campaign. He stands sixth in the CAA in scoring with 16.5 points per game, including five 20+ point games and being fourth in the league in CAA-only games with 17.7 points a game. The Philadelphia native was also fifth in the league with 3.7 assists per game.
Thompson earns his first recognition from the league. The sophomore forward is second in the CAA with 28 total blocks and 1.6 blocks per game, with 26 blocks coming against CAA competition, the best mark in league-only play. He is also sixth in the conference with 6.7 rebounds per game, totaling 114 boards, adding 9.5 points a game.
The CAA announced the postseason awards on the day before the league tournament is supposed to begin.
