TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University track and field team competed in day two of the events at the Virginia Challenge and Hopkins/Loyola Invitational.
Towson competed in four events at the Virginia Challenge in Lannigan Field. The other half of the team competed in 14 events at the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational in the John Hopkins/Loyola University Field.
How it Happened – Virginia Challenge
- Asia Chen ran a time of 1:04.40 in the 400m hurdles.
- Crystal Johnson finished in second in the 200m with a finals time of 24.12. Sydney Tucker ran a time of 24.84.
- Georgia Coleman threw 40.21m (131'11") in the discus throw, and Kayla Thorpe threw 39.04m (128'1").
- Lauren Coleman finished in fourth in the shot put with a 16.23m (53'3") throw matching the outdoor school record set by Michaela Obijiaku in 2019. Thorpe threw a new personal-best 14.18m (46'4.75").
How it Happened – Hopkins/Loyola Invite
- Liana Wilkinson finished second in the heptathlon after finishing third in the 100m hurdles (15.39), fourth in the high jump (1.50m), fourth in shot put (7.52m), ran a personal-record in the 800m with a time of 2:25.43, third in the 200 (27.04), finished with a 3.81m mark in the long jump and 16.32m mark in the javelin throw.
- Christina Marion finished in fourth place in the heptathlon.
- Alison Betler ran a time of 19:19.03 in the 5000m run.
- Tajah Martin-Palmer came in third in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.00.
- Kelsey Evans finished in fourth in the 100m dash with a time of 12.74. Alexis Trott ran a time of 12.86.
- Rachel Thomas ran a time of 2:26.11 in the 800m run.
- Ariana Poteat came in second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:06.05. Martin-Palmer came in fourth with a time of 1:06.79 and Jasmine Johnson finished in fifth (1:07.16).
- Towson picked up a second-place finish in the 4X400m relay with a time of 4:04.66.
- Deborah Gnoumou won the high jump (1.60m) and Aliyah Anderson came in third (1.55m).
- Fatimah Owens finished in second in the shot put (11.98m).
- Samantha Ronald won the pole vault with a 3.58m mark.
- Samira Van Der Lann finished in second in the javelin throw (37.65m).
- Anderson came in fourth in the triple jump (10.98m).
- It was a 1-2-3 finish in the discus throw with Owens (42.60m), Lann (40.12m), and Maria Bravo (39.05m).
