Brennan Named CAA Men’s Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. -- After winning his third game in a week, Towson University redshirt junior Shane Brennan was selected as the CAA Men's Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week. The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) made its weekly announcement Tuesday morning.

Brennan backstopped Towson (6-6, 3-3 CAA) to a 2-0 week, topping No. 17/No. 15 Hofstra 10-8 on Tuesday before a strong 9-6 win at rv/rv UMass just four days later.

The Huntington Station, New Yorker made 27 saves on the week, stopping .659 percent of the shots on goal he faced. Walt Whitman High School product allowed just 14 goals on the week, going for a 7.00 goals against average. Brennan limited both Hofstra and UMass to single figure goals while making 14 saves against the former and another 13 saves against the latter, including clutch saves down the stretch for a road win at UMass.

Delaware's Charlie Kitchen was selected as the CAA Men's Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week while Drexel's Luke Tomak was tapped as the CAA Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week.
