University Park, Pa.- For their first regular season tournament of the fall, the Towson Women's Golf team will be participating in the Nittany Lions Invitational.
 

The tournament hosted by Penn State will be held Sept. 4-5.

Golfers will play on the Penn State White Course in celebration of 100 years of Penn State golf.
 

Penn State White Course- Par 72 - 6,115 Yards
 

On Saturday, the 36-hole action will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start into continuous play.  The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
 

The Tigers will be joined by Akron, Boston College, Bucknell, Delaware, Georgetown, Harvard, James Madison, Pennsylvania, Penn State, Princeton, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Youngstown.

The Women's Golf team finished fifth in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship in April 2021. The Tigers (321-309-309) ended the tournament with 939 strokes (+75). Towson's collective round score of 309 shot in the last two rounds were a season-low.

Top returning Tigers are Julia Calomiris, Jordan Cornelius, and Faith McIlvain. Calomiris finished first in the 2021 Navy Spring Invitational.
 

With a round score of 3-under-par 69 at the 2021 Kiawah Island Classic, Cornelius was one off from her personal best and a school record.
 

McIlvain competed in all four events and averaged over 11 rounds in her rookie season.

Head Coach Shannon Briggs brought in two freshmen this season; Odette Font Garcia and Rayab Lee. Font Garcia held a 73.8 stroke average across ten rounds and has won several Spanish national championships.

As a captain of the varsity golf team at Battlefield High School, Lee was selected to the First Team, All-State.
