Another Meet, Another Improvement. Again. (And Again) (And Again).
Stop us if you've heard this before (again)

It was another meet and another improvement for the Tigers on the team score as Towson dropped in a 196.700 last week at a home quad-meet with Temple, LIU and Eastern Michigan. It was the second-best score in program history and the highest point total for the Tigers at SECU Arena.

Two days prior, Towson scored a 196.225, then the sixth-best mark in program history, in a tri-meet with George Washington and William & Mary.

On Jan. 28, the Tigers posted a then-season best 195.975 while competing against host UNC and Pittsburgh, increasing its season total by a full point. Towson's previous season best was a 194.975 set the previous weekend at N.C. State in a dual meet.

Towson opened the season with an even 194.000 at UNH before the Tigers' home-opening score of 194.150 in a quad meet with West Virginia, West Chester and William & Mary.

The Friendly Confines of SECU Arena
Towson has been untouchable at home this season, sporting an 8-0 record at SECU Arena heading into Sunday's meet. Most recently, Towson swept a quad-meet with a 196.700 against Temple (194.650), LIU (193.350) and Eastern Michigan (194.575).

The eight wins at home this season are already a program-best under head coach Jay Ramirez, besting the previous mark of 5-1 in his rookie season at the helm in 2020.

Under Ramirez, the Tigers are 16-7 at SECU Arena.

Super Bowl Sunday
Sunday's meet will be the sixth time since the 2000 season that the Tigers will compete on Super Bowl Sunday and just the second time in that span the Tigers will host an event on the same day as the Super Bowl.

Since 2000, the Tiger are 7-5 on Super Bowl Sunday, most recently with a 193.525-192.550 dual-meet win over West Chester.

You Look Very Familiar...
Towson and William & Mary met for a second time in the first half of the season as the Tigers hosted the Tribe in Towson's home opener on Jan. 14 and again on February 2.

The February 2 meet was also the first of two meetings between Towson and George Washington. The pair of EAGL rivals meet again in Towson's regular season finale on March 11 before this year's EAGL Championships, hosted at GW's Charles E. Smith Center on Saturday, March 19.

William & Mary, George Washington, West Virginia and Utah State are the four opponents that adorn the Tigers' 2022 schedule multiple times during the regular season.
