TOWSON, Md. – One of the league's top hitters this season, Towson University outfielder
Briana Ramirez earned 2022 All-CAA First Team recognition, announced by the league on Wednesday.
Ramirez is the first Tiger softball player to earn All-CAA First Team since
Nicole Stockinger in 2019. Last year,
Chloe Poulich was selected to the All-CAA Second Team at third base.
Ramirez earns her first-ever all-conference honor after finishing second in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) with a .379 batting average. She also ranked third in the CAA in total hits with 55 and fourth in the league in sacrifice bunts with seven. Ramirez also had a .412 on-base percentage.
The Lake Elsinore, California native earned 14 multi-hit performances and hit safely in 38 of 47 games played. She also was a standout defensive player in 47 starts as Towson's right fielder, earning seven assists from the outfield.
The All-CAA Teams are nominated and voted upon by the league's head coaches. Towson concluded the 2022 campaign last weekend following a doubleheader against Hofstra.
