TOWSON, Md. — Following the spring 2022 season, Amelia Lawson of the Towson University women's tennis team was named an All-CAA Third Team selection. The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) made the announcement Tuesday afternoon.  

Lawson helped lead the team to a 9-13 overall record in the spring season, including a 9-4 mark at home.  

During the spring, the Wellington, New Zealand product earned a 10-10 overall singles record. She went 7-7 on court No. 1, earning big wins against Johns Hopkins, Fairleigh Dickinson, Saint Francis, Hofstra, Coppin State and Georgetown. At the No. 2 lineup spot, Lawson got victories over Mary Washington, Morgan State and Saint Joseph's.  

The senior also secured a 10-9 mark in doubles play, going 5-1 on court No. 2 with partner Jessica Assenmacher. The duo went undefeated in the last four nonconference matches with wins over Delaware State, Bucknell, Morgan State and St. Joe's.  

The All-CAA Teams are nominated and voted upon by the league's head coaches.
