Summerson Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

TOWSON, Md. – A junior on the Towson University men's golf team, Jeremy Summerson has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team NCAA Division I. The College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) made its announcement Thursday afternoon.

Representing CoSIDA's District 2, Summerson is one of 12 student-athletes on the Men's CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team. He is the only golfer on the District 2 team, which covers Washington, D.C., Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Summerson is one of 17 men's golfers named across all eight districts for NCAA Division I teams.

Through the Fall 2021 semester, Summerson carried a 3.85 cumulative grade point average. The Victor, New York native is majoring in molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics at Towson University.

On the course, Summerson played in 10 tournaments, logging 29 rounds this academic year. He finished with a 75.00 average score alongside three top-20 finishes. Summerson finished third overall at the Towson Invitational, helping lead the Tigers to the team title at Prospect Bay Country Club on Maryand's Eastern Shore. In the second round of the Towson Invitational, Summerson carded a -8 64, one of the best individual rounds in program history. A week prior, Summerson finished tied for seventh at the Bison Invitational, scoring a combined 229 on the Woodmont Country Club - North course in Rockville, Maryland.

Summerson is now eligible for recognition on the CoSIDA Academic All-America team. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America teams will be announced in mid-June.
