TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University volleyball team will be going for its fourth consecutive Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title in 2022, announcing its schedule for the upcoming campaign.
Towson earned its third-straight CAA title and berth into the NCAA Tournament in 2021, finishing 26-5 overall and 12-4 in the league. The Tigers return two All-CAA players in the front row, First Team outside hitter
Fay Bakodimou and Second Team opposite hitter
Nina Cajic, to a team which led the CAA in hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage, assists and blocks last season.
In 2022, the Tigers are set for three non-conference weekends, including the annual Towson Invitational, 13 home matches at SECU Arena and a full CAA slate. Towson will be continuing rivalries against league foes and making some new rivalries, playing Hampton, North Carolina A&T and Stony Brook for the first time as conference opponents.

th season at the helm of the Tigers, eight wins away from 200 with the Black & Gold. The last three years, the Tigers have combined to go 61-9, including a 30-4 record in CAA play.
Towson will be hosting the 2022 CAA Tournament from Nov. 17-19. Volleyball season tickets are on sale now: season ticket prices start at $40 for adults and $30 for youth/senior. Including a CAA Tournament all-session pass, prices begin at $55 for adults and $40 for youth/senior.
Towson begins the season at the Pirate Invitational in Greenville, North Carolina on Friday, Aug. 26, playing Norfolk State at 11 a.m. and tournament host East Carolina at 7:30 p.m. The next day, the team plays Furman at 1 p.m.
The Black & Gold kick off the home slate with the Towson Invitational from Sept. 2-4. Towson will play four matches on the weekend, beginning with a battle of Tigers vs. Princeton on Friday, Sept. 2 at 4 p.m. The squad has two matches the next day, hosting Radford at 10 a.m. and Rutgers at 7 p.m. Towson takes on Baltimore rival Morgan State on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 1 p.m.
The Tigers return to Pittsburgh, where they played in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, for the following weekend, beginning with an 11 a.m. match vs. Bowling Green on Friday, Sept. 9. On Saturday, Sept. 10, the Tigers take on American at 11 a.m., then at 7 p.m., the Tigers battle 2021 national semifinalist Pittsburgh.
CAA play begins on Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18 with a pair of 1 p.m. home matches vs. Hampton.
To Long Island the next weekend as Towson plays another new CAA opponent, Stony Brook, for a pair of 1 p.m. matches on Saturday, Sept. 24 and Sunday, Sept. 25.
The Tigers come back home for their third-straight weekend against a new CAA foe, hosting North Carolina A&T on Saturday, Oct. 1 and Sunday, Oct. 2, each at 1 p.m.
Towson hits the road for the next two weekends, combining for four 2 p.m. matches. The team plays at Delaware on Saturday, Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct. 9 then at Elon on Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16.
The next three matches will be at SECU Arena, beginning with a non-league match vs. Chicago State on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. Next weekend, Towson is back in CAA play vs. William & Mary on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m.
Towson travels to South Carolina for its final two CAA road matches, playing at the College of Charleston on Saturday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m.
The CAA regular season wraps up on the weekend of Saturday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, Nov. 13 with a pair of home 1 p.m. matches vs. Hofstra.
The top eight teams in the league standings will gather for the 2022 CAA Tournament from Nov. 17-19 at SECU Arena.
