POTOMAC, Md. – The Towson University men's golf team held onto their seventh place spot for the conclusion of the USF/Howard Intercollegiate, earning a final score of 933 (+93).
Host team University of San Fransisco won the tournament after rounds of 275-286-305. Gregory Odom Jr. from Howard University placed first individually, finishing with a final score of 213 (+3). Howard had three players place in the top three.
Graduate student
Justin Griffith was the top finisher for the Tigers, placing tied for 22
nd after rounds of 78-71-80. Griffith's best round was the second, where he shot 1-over and recorded five birdies.
Following Griffith was
Ryan Peters (73-79-80) who finished the tournament at 22-over. Peters notched three more birdies during his final round.
Brad Riley (82-75-79) and
Julian Gonzalez (80-75-82) finished one stroke apart from each other.
Poonyapat Nantsupawat rounded out the team, finishing in 44
th place after rounds of 82-78-84. The freshman added one birdie to his scorecard during the final round.
Jai Sheth, competing as an individual, finished his first collegiate tournament tied for 46
th after rounds of 80-82-86.
The Tigers will continue their fall season at the Bucknell Fall Invitational, hosted by Bucknell. The tournament will take place from Oct. 9-11
th on the Bucknell University Golf Course.
