Morgantown, WV – The Towson University women's gymnastics team had quite an exciting Saturday afternoon, earning multiple team and individual season bests which led the Tigers to a second-place finish at the West Virginia quad meet. The Black & Gold posted a 196.025, the highest score so far this season.
Host team West Virginia took first place with a final score of 196.375. The Mountaineers posted above 49.000 on three of the events with their strongest rotation being floor. The team earned a 49.375 on floor, led by three athletes receiving 9.900s or better. Iowa State finished in third with a 195.825 followed by Eastern Michigan University with 194.050.
Towson earned seven top-five finishes picked up by
Isabella Minervini,
Grace Vaillancourt,
Clara Hong,
Steph Macasu,
Lauren Greene and
Carmella Calafati. The Tigers' strongest event of the day was bars, where they posted the second highest score in school history of 49.350.
How it Happened:
Beam – 48.925
-After the first rotation Towson hung onto the second-place spot.
-The Black & Gold started off strong for the first rotation of beam, posting a season high 48.925 led by
Lauren Keener (9.825), who was the top finisher for the Tigers.

Sarah Girot and
Clara Hong received 9.800s, season highs for both athletes.
Floor – 48.975
-Towson took the lead after receiving a team score of 48.975 for the second rotation.

Isabella Minervini and
Carmella Calafati tied for fifth with a 9.875s as the top finishers for the team.

Paige Casper earned a season best 9.825, tying for tenth.
Vault – 48.775
-After a minor setback during the second rotation, Towson fell to third place.

Adriana Hoffman made her collegiate debut on vault receiving a 9.700 to start off the rotation.

Jenna Weitz earned a season high of 9.725.

Mia Davis and
Polina Belanovski all earned 9.775s, the highest scores for Towson in the event.
Bars – 49.350
-After a stellar final rotation on bars, the Tigers made their way back to second place.

Clara Hong tied for second with 9.875s, followed by
Steph Macasu (9.850) and
Lauren Greene (9.850) who both tied for fifth.
