TOWSON, Md. – For the second consecutive week Towson women's golfer
Madison Barber has earned a Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) weekly award as she was named Women's Co-Golfer of the Week, announced by the league on Wednesday afternoon.
Barber shares the award with College of Charleston's Othilie Leid.
Barber earned her first ever CAA award last Wednesday, being named Women's Golfer of the Week following her performance at the Navy Invitational where she placed second overall and tied her career low 72 during the first round.
The Canada native had rounds of 75-73-70 at the UNCG Collegiate earlier this week, finishing 2-over par and tied for eighth in a 107-player field.
Barber made history during the front nine of her second round, firing a 31 which breaks Towson's program record for a 9-hole score. She notched five birdies and parred the remaining four holes.
Her third-round performance of 70 (-2) marked a new career low for the graduate student by two strokes.
Towson finished the tournament tied for sixth with rounds of 303-296-297. The second round marked a season low score for the Tigers by nine strokes.
The Black & Gold are set to wrap up the fall season with a trip back down south for the Edisto Island Invitational next week. The event hosted by CAA foe College of Charleston takes place at The Plantation Course on October 16 and 17.
