MECHANICSVILLE, Va. – The Towson University cross country team is set for the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships, hosted by William & Mary at the Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
The Tigers saw a 10
th place finish at CAA's last year, finishing with an average time of 24:13.10. Graduate
Beighley Ayers led the team, placing 38
th after clocking a 23:05.50.
Aubrey Schaffer crossed the finish line in 24:04.10, finishing in 65
th. Reigning champions Elon University won the event for the fourth consecutive year while a Northeastern athlete, Abigail Hassman, claimed the top individual spot with a time of 21:12.70.

Towson will face athletes from four regionally ranked teams, Monmouth (12
th in Mid-Atlantic), Northeastern (3
rd in Northeast), Stony Brook (12
th in Northeast) and Elon (7
th in Southeast).

Last Meet Recap
The Tigers are coming off of major momentum from their previous meet as they posted four lifetime PRs and three season best times at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational two weeks ago. The team placed fourth overall out of 26 collegiate teams, running the best average 6K time this season of 24:08.
Aubrey Schaffer was Towson's top finisher, clocking a lifetime PR of 22:21.6 to place 5
th overall.
Baara Stewart earned a top 30 individual finish after also running a lifetime PR of 23:24.2.
