TOWSON, Md.- Towson University tennis alum Nitin Deodhar was part of the men's tennis team that played for the Tigers. Tennis still plays a major role in Deodhar's life as he currently runs the Bethesda Tennis Academy.
Â
1. Years after graduating from Towson, what are you up to? Â
I currently reside in Potomac, Maryland with my lovely wife Nuthan (18 years of marriage), two boys (Aakash and Roshan age 14), and two dogs (Thor age 4 and Agassi age 3). In 2008, I began my own tennis academy (Bethesda Tennis Academy) and have enjoyed running it for the past 15 years. During that time, I also came back to Towson to assist with the Women's Tennis Team as well as was the Head Men's Coach at Catholic University for 4 years.Â
 Â
2. What drew you to attend Towson University back then? Â
I was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. I wanted to stay close but have a strong academic and athletic experience. Towson was an excellent option, and I enjoyed my years there thoroughly.Â
3. What is your best tennis memory as a Tiger? Â
I always look back fondly in regard to the time we spent together playing, working, and hanging out. However, my best memory on-court was playing doubles with Matt Shore. Â We competed well, had fun (so many inside jokes) and of course the wins we shared as a doubles team. Off-court would be the Spring Break Trips! Too many stories there.Â
Â
4. Are you still playing tennis? Â
Yes, running Bethesda Tennis Academy has kept me in the game both playing and coaching, so I never stopped.
Â
5. Do you still keep in touch with former teammates?Â
I did for a while (attended weddings of teammates etc.) but not the last couple years. I will definitely look to connect again, maybe at a TU alumni event!
