ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Towson University track & field team concluded the first meet of the 2023-24 indoor season on a high note as the Tigers finished with 16 new PRs, 10 podium finishes, nine marks in the top-10 all-time list and two new school records.

How it Happened – Track
Freshman
Morgan Lane debuted as a Tiger in the 60m hurdles prelims, running a PR of 9.23 to qualify for finals.
Leeann Redlo ran a 8.96 in the event to join Lane in finals. Redlo then matched her prelims time of 8.96 to place second overall in the finals. Lane finished seventh overall with 9.33.
Maya Tucker and
Ty'Liyah Hannah both picked up new PRs in the 60m dash prelims after running 7.68 and 7.75 respectively. Tucker ran the seventh fastest time in program history to place fourth overall while Hannah finished in eighth place.
Satori Valentine (1:19.86) and
Mia Martinez (1:20.65) finished within a second of each other in the 500m, both earning new PRs in the event.
Dominique DeVaughn (1:22.9),
Kelis Milburn (1:23.13),
Madison Parham (1:23.48) and
Keerthana Sujesh (1:25.17) competed in the 500 as well.
Baara Stewart had a successful indoor collegiate debut as she won the 800m with a time of 2:18.01, which is the fourth fastest time in school history. The freshman finished half a second ahead of the runner-up.
Cristal Cuervo claimed first place in the 200m dash, setting a new school record for the Tigers after crossing the finish line in 24 seconds flat. Her previous best was set at the 2023 indoor Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships, where she ran a 24.31 to earn a bronze medal.
Sydney Tucker finished three places behind Cuervo in fourth with a 25.03.
Princess Asante (25.69), Denee Hibbert (26.25) and
Dominique DeVaughn (26.46) all set new PRs in the event.
The 4x400 relay (
Maya Tucker,
Cristal Cuervo,
Ty'Liyah Hannah,
Satori Valentine) wrapped up the meet with a bronze medal performance, running the eighth fastest time in school history of 3:53.42.
How it Happened – Field
Leeann Redlo PR'ed in the long jump with a mark of 5.34m.
Omokemi Balogun and Denee Hibbert posted PRs as well, jumping 5.21m and 5.25m respectively.
Manie Mevo was Towson's top finisher, finishing in fourth with a mark of 5.65m.
Fatimah Owens tossed 17.40m in the weight throw to place second overall, which is the third best mark in her collegiate career.
Leeann Redlo broke the meet record in the high jump with a mark of 1.74m to finish second overall.
Shannon Harnett jumped 1.60m to complete her collegiate debut in third place.
In the triple jump, four Tigers finished with marks in the top-10 all-time list.
Manie Mevo placed first in the event with a PR mark of 12.46 to break the Towson program record. Mevo now owns the school record for the indoor and outdoor triple jump.

Shannon Harnett (11.45m – 10
th all-time) found success in the event as well.
Fatimah Owens wrapped up the field side with a toss of 13.42m in the shot put to place third overall.
