TOWSON, Md. – As the 2024 Towson University gymnastics season draws closer, the team has announced the themes for the four home meets.
All meets will be held at the TU Arena with post-meet autographs available at each.
The Shelley Calloway Invitational is slated for the home opener on January 26 at 6 p.m. The Tigers welcome LIU, George Washington, Cornell and New Hampshire for the annual Pink Meet in recognition of breast cancer awareness. 250 co-branded rally towels (Donavan Water Works) and 100 pink t-shirts as well as team posters are the giveaway items of the meet.
On February 23 the Black & Gold host Temple for the George McGinty Alumni Meet at 6 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to play a Kahoot with black history month questions as part of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion theme.
Towson opens March with a pride themed meet against Maryland on the 10
th at 1 p.m. The giveaway includes 250 co-branded pride t-shirts (Donovan Water Works).
Senior night is set for the final regular season home meet on March 15
th at 6 p.m. against William & Mary and George Washington. The team's graduating seniors and their families will be honored at the conclusion of the meet. For the giveaway item, 200 GOH Tigers branded fanny packs will be handed out. Fans are also encouraged to bring dog toys as this meet is the third annual Dog Toy Toss with Maryland SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Baltimore City, Inc.).
Own Your Roar, a campaign based on student-athlete mental health awareness founded by former Towson gymnast Olivia Lubarsky, is the theme for this competition. Fifth year
Camille Vitoff is currently the president of the organization, in charge of running the social media account and hosting monthly events that range from destress events to informational sessions with guest speakers.
