Track and Field Completes Day One of David Hemery Invite

Boston, MA The Towson University track and field team wrapped up one day of the David Hemery Valentine Invitational with several personal and season bests as well as new changes to the top-10 all-time lists.  
 
How it Happened – Track 
  • Aubrey Schaffer started off for the Tigers, earning a two second PR in the 5000 meters of 18:35.33. 
  • Sydney Tucker earned a personal best in 60 meters of 7.67, moving up to 6th all-time in program history. 
  • Alexis Mogensen clocked a season best of 2:21.94 in the 800 meters. Satori Valentine earned a collegiate best of 2:26.66 in the same event. 
  • Cristal Cuervo won her heat in 400 meter with a new indoor PR of 55.13, placing sixth out of 231 athletes. 
  • Maya Tucker finished the 200 meter in 24.57, a personal best for the sophomore. This time moves her to seventh all time. Ty'Liyah Hannah (25.39) earned a personal best in the event as well. 
  • The 4x400 meter relay, consisting of Maya Tucker, Sydney Tucker, Cristal Cuervo and Satori Valentine clocked a 3:54.93, the seventh fastest time in program history. 
  • Morgan Loewe ran a personal record of 10:39.95 in the 3000 meters. 
  • Beighley Ayers clocked a huge personal best of 17:06.86 after dropping 17 seconds in the 5000 meter, placing her at third all-time in program history.  
 
How it Happened – Field 
  • Emmanuel Mevo earned a mark of 5.39m in the long jump. Mevo went on to place eighth overall in the triple jump with an 11.80m, only .05 off her collegiate best. 
  • Georgia Coleman placed fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 18.18m.
  • Fatimah Owens threw 13.24m in the shot put, putting her at eighth all-time.  
  • Skylar Galiano-Holmes earned a mark of 11.44m in the triple jump, tying her for eighth all-time. 
 
Up Next: 
 
Towson heads to Penn State on Feb 17 before opening championship season with the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships on Feb 22 and 23 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. 
 
Following CAAs the Tigers will compete in Eastern Athletic Association Conference (ECAC) Championships on Mar 3 and 4 in Boston. Indoor season will conclude with NCAA Championships from March 7-10 in New Mexico.
