Track & Field Completes Penn State's Skyes & Sabock Challenge


State College, PA – The Towson University track and field team completed the Skyes & Sabock challenge at Penn State University on Saturday with multiple personal, season bests and all-time program bests.
 
How it Happened - Track
  • Leeann Redlo competed in the 60 meter hurdles, clocking a 8.84 which put her at fifth going into finals. Redlo went on to run a 8.89 in finals.
  • Ty'Liyah Hannah earned a personal best of 7.79 in 60 meter dash, qualifying for finals. Hannah then lowered her new PR by .03, finishing in 7.76. 
  • Every Towson runner in the mile earned a personal best. Beighley Ayers was the top finisher for the team, placing 9th with a 5:03.84, also making her 4th all-time in program history. Morgan Loewe clocked a 5:21.35 and Sophia Skinner ran a 5:33.26.
  • In the 800 meters Alexis Mogensen clocked the fastest time for the Tigers, earning a season best of 2:22.80. Morgan Loewe (2:27.15) and Jenna Zentz (2:29.49) competed in the event as well, both posting personal bests.
  • Cristal Cuervo took fifth in the 200 meter with a 24.60. Maya Tucker was the next for Towson in that event, running a 24.97. 
  • Aubrey Schaffer ran a 10:37.10 in the 3000 meters, which is a personal best by 10 seconds for the sophomore. 
  • In the 4x400 relay, Towson ran the fourth best time in program history - 3:51.64. The relay consisted of Maya Tucker (58.07), Sydney Tucker (58.90), Cristal Cuervo (55.29) and Emmanuel Mevo (59.40). 
 
How it Happened - Field 
  • Emily Lunger competed in the long jump, finishing with a mark of 1.64m.
  • Kiara Murray was the top finisher for the Tigers in the long jump after placing seventh with a mark of 5.39m. Teammate Skylar Galiano-Holmes followed with a 5.26m.
  • Aliyah Anderson was .15m off of her personal record in the triple jump, jumping 11.45 meters.
  • Georgia Coleman finished third overall in the weight throw after throwing 17.61m.
