Washington, D.C. – The Towson University gymnastics team completed the last quad meet of the 2023 season in third place. The Tigers struggled in the first half of the meet but were able to fight back for the last two rotations, posting 49.000 or better on both events.
Host George Washington took first after a back-and-forth battle with Maryland. The Colonials came out on top after putting up a 195.950. The Terps earned a final score of 195.700 after claiming the top spot in every event except floor. William & Mary rounded out the meet with a 192.800.
Maryland's Emma Silberman placed first in all-around out of four competitors with a 39.400.
How it Happened
Bars – 48.625
- Clara Hong had quite a successful comeback after taking a couple meets off, posting a 9.875 to tie for first.
- Grace Vaillancourt was the next top finisher for Towson, logging a 9.775.
- Isabella Minervini followed not too far behind with a 9.775
Beam – 48.475
- Sarah Girot led the way for the Tigers, receving a career high 9.850. She made her way on to the podium to place third overall. Girot's score is also the second highest beam score on the team this season.
- Lauren Bolen followed with a 9.800, her second highest score this season.
- Lauren Keener posted the third highest score for the Tigers on the event, 9.775.
Floor – 49.375
Vault – 49.000
- Polina Belanovski claimed gold in the event, tying for first with two Maryland gymnasts after posting a 9.850.
- Lauren Bolen and Camille Vitoff received a pair of 9.825s to tie for fourth.
- Adrianna Hoffman earned a score of 9.775, her third highest this season.
